Rincon de la Victoria is the point of departure of "La Ruta del Sol y La Ruta del Aguacate". Its population of 25,000 inhabitants is distributed amongst four urban centres, three coastal and one in the interior. With its nine kilometres of beaches with fine sands and warm waters, the town offers the visitor all the attractions to enjoy to the maximun their leisure time.
Its first known settlers left, during the higher Paleolitic Age, cave paintings in "La Cueva del Higueron" and "La Cueva del Tesoro", place from which it is possible to enjoy splendid views.
Furthermore, there are numerous historical accounts of the existence of Rincon de la Victoria, highlighting those during Phoenician times, who tell of a temple in honour of the goddess Noctiluca, Roman times and those of the andalusi period, when it is mentioned by Al-Idrissi in his chronicles.
Like an eminently seafaring town, its main festivity is that of "La Virgen del Carmen" on the 16th of July. "El boqueron vitoriano", together with the variety of fried fish (frituras de pescado variado), are the star dishes on summer nights at the Rincon.
